Tasting notes from Jancis Robinson:
Loess with some clay in the deeper layers. Blaufränkisch.
Mid cherry red. Aromatic but also slightly stemmy dark-red fruit, more blackberry than blackcurrant. Smells fragrant and generous and just a little oaky. Very fine tannin texture, adding freshness. Firm, youthfully chewy but great purity of fruit and intention. Lively, beautifully balanced between fruit and texture. (I also had the chance to taste the 2010, which was beautiful, hence my longer drink dates.) Drink 2024 – 2030 (Jg 2018, 17/20 - JancisRobinson.com)
